Just because I’m the older sister doesn’t mean I know everything (although I like to pretend I do). I’m five-and-a-half years older than Aditi and still I learn from her.
Aditi uses one of the crappiest phones I have ever seen. She’s had it for years (ever since he phone before that mysteriously vanished off of her desk in her bedroom). Mom thinks an Internet-enabled phone would be too distracting for her right now.
For the most part, Aditi doesn’t care. She wants a phone that has more storage space for text messages (she constantly has to delete old messages to make room for the incoming ones) and a more sensitive touch screen (she has to push hard for it to read each action).
All the activities she does fulfill her, not what she has, which is something I’m beginning to understand more and more. Things don’t make you happy. I know it’s cliche, I know people say it all the time. People say it because it’s true. Because no one cares if you have the iPhone 4s or a Gucci bag. Maybe it’s fun to have those items while they’re new, but the novelty fades. Everything eventually becomes outdated and obsolete.

Amazing. I love this so much. It’s something I have to remember.
