Hope is a Dream that Never Sleeps

I had forgotten how amazing it is and how much I love it. For anyone who ever gets the opportunity to go, GO!!!!!!

I went to the meeting last night. It was the Humorous Speech Contest and, remembering how funny the speeches really are, I decided to go and watch them. I stepped into the room after years of not attending a meeting and was immediately greeted warmly by all the members who had been around when I was a member. I had lengthy conversations with them - all of whom were amazed and a little shocked that I’d graduated college (“Have I been a member that long???”). Even the waitress, Peggy, remembered me.

It didn’t have the tenseness of a competition. The atmosphere was light, airy. Everyone laughed - both politely and genuinely. The speeches were great as I had expected.

If I were certain I’d be staying around for an extended amount of time, I would definitely re-join it. However, since I’m 100% positive I’m leaving, I’m just going to stop by the meetings as a guest until it comes time for me to go.
